chicago suburban youth BASEBALL LEAGUE (csyba)
The Chicago Suburban Youth Baseball League culminates a merger between the North Suburban Youth Baseball Association and the Chicago League, beginning with the Fall 2019 season. This league is a travel-like league that is driven from House League philosophies and goals. Teams will practice locally and will play games both home and away. This program will feature a paid, trained coaching staff.
Baseball Partnership with Lake Forest Baseball Association
The Lake Forest Recreation Department and Lake Forest Baseball Association have partnered to develop our young baseball players both on and off the field through an all-encompassing youth baseball program. This program will include both House Leagues Baseball and Travel Baseball (intensive & light) options.
Our organization will teach the players to represent themselves and our community in a first class manner through the sport of Baseball. Our ultimate goal is to prepare our community's young baseball players for baseball at the High School level. To help players achieve this objective, our organizations will emphasize the following six facets of Baseball and more importantly, development as a person; Fundamentals, Hard Work, Teamwork, Loyalty, Discipline and Enjoyment.
Parent volunteer coaches and assistant coaches are needed for each team. If you are interested in helping out, please attend the mandatory volunteer coaches meeting prior to the season. All coaches will be contacted in March with all of the details.
Registration Opens Winter 2019
HOUSE LEAGUE BASKETBALL
House League Basketball features different levels of competition for each age group, beginning with the most basic of fundamentals at the Kindergarten level and continuing through 7th - 8th grade with high-level competition. While competition escalates through the years, fun and skill development is the foundation. All levels feature several practices before games, with the goal of skill development being the priority. Playoff tournaments at 5th grade and above will provide players with more competitive opportunities.
The Lake Forest Recreation Department (LFRD) has partnered with Lake Bluff Park District (LBPD) to enhance your basketball experience. Games and practices will be held in both Lake Forest & Lake Bluff and all players will be from both communities.
The LFRD and LBPD offer two coaching clinics for parents that would like to coach. Parents will learn the rules of the game, how to conduct a practice, skill development drills, how to reinforce good sportsmanship, will receive sample plays, and get the basics in how to insure the players have fun.
The LFRD and LBPD offer a basketball officials clinic to anyone interested in becoming an official for the in-house basketball league. Participants will learn the rules of the game, proper hand signals, how to reinforce good sportsmanship, and get the basics on how to insure the players and coaches have fun.

JUNIOR SCOUTS TACKLE FOOTBALL
The Lake Forest Recreation Department is excited to announce the 2020 Lake Forest Junior Scouts Tackle Football program! Playing in TCYFL will provide game opportunities against communities that currently reside in the same conference as LFHS.
Program goals include:
- Create a competitive learning football atmosphere for the player, while remaining fun, safe, and educational
- Maintaining physical fitness and exercise to promote a healthy lifestyle
- Instill the values of leadership, commitment, discipline and dedication
- Teach and reinforce the qualities of sportsmanship and team play
- Create an atmosphere of respect for team, coaches, opponents and officials
Lake Forest Junior Scouts Football is designed to provide the opportunity for Lake Forest/Lake Bluff boys and girls in grades 5-8 to learn the fundamentals of Football and participate in an organized, competitive program with participants of similar age and size. The Junior Scouts Football Program is open to any players that reside in the Lake Forest High School District.

Boys and girls will practice all of the skills necessary to play the game of football without serious risk of injury.

Goals of this program will range from introductory skill development to advanced game strategy, depending on age group and skill level. This is a great program for girls interested in trying the sport for the first time OR for the avid, competitive softball player as skill development will be advanced at the older age groups. While this is a clinic-based program, stressing skill development through drill work and group game play, scrimmages will be played to give players game-like experience. Intensity of scrimmages will be dependent on age group and skill level.
