Lake Forest Sailing (LFS) offers sailing instruction for all ages and skill levels and is nationally recognized and sanctioned as an accredited training center by US Sailing. We provide a variety of ways to get out onto Lake Michigan including US Sailing Adult Keelboat Certification, learn to sail camps & lessons for all ages, and paddleboard / kayak rentals. Additionally, we offer US Sailing Level III Optimist, Club 420 and Laser training & event coaching 365 days a year, and more advanced instruction in fiberglass repair, sail trim, tactics & theory. We also host the Lake Forest High School & Lake Forest Academy teams in the Fall & Spring.
LFS was recognized as the Best Community Sailing Program of the Year by U.S. Sailing and the Best Recreation Program of the Year from the Illinois Parks and Recreation Association in 2002. We truly provide opportunities to sailors of all ages and ability levels, from beginners first getting out onto the water to aspiring National Champions in dinghies and keelboats.
