Lake Forest Tree Lighting Ceremony has been re-imagined for 2020! In addition to the central business district and Market Square holiday decorations, this year eight Lake Forest community and neighborhood parks will be decorated with holiday trees and lights, which will remain on for the entire season. Parks include:
  • Elawa Park
  • Everett Park
  • Forest Park
  • Northcroft Park
  • South Park
  • Townline Park
  • Waveland Park
  • West Park
Also, watch our website and social media platforms for the announcement of a socially distant, fun, family activity involving all of the listed parks!

Sponsorship Opportunity!

We are looking for families and local businesses to sponsor Lake Forest Lights up the Parks. Any donation amount is welcome. A festive holiday sign will be posted in the park acknowledging sponsors donating $25.00 or more.

The Friends of Lake Forest Parks & Recreation Foundation (Friends) was established to promote excellence in our parks and recreation system by helping build beautiful parks, make improvements, and expand recreational programs and activities. The Festival and Fireworks is just one of the many fundraising events they host throughout the year. Their events bring friends, families, and the entire community together while raising funds for the Lake Forest Parks & Recreation Department.
