ALL STARS DAY CAMP
COMPLETED GRADES k-6
Is your child looking for an Athletic oriented camp that features a wide variety of camp options and activities, including original camp game favorites? Then, All Stars & Beyond is the camp to be at! While at camp, your campers will have the flexibility to choose the activities they engage in. During the morning hours, campers will have the opportunity to engage in Athletic oriented game play, group tag / camp games and then dodgeball oriented games. If weather impacts the morning schedule, campers may engage in various art projects, board games and even bingo! After lunch, campers will take daily trips to the Lake Forest High School Pool or Forest Park Beach and also take weekly field trips on Wednesdays to attractions such as; Green Meadows Farm, America's Action Territory of Kenosha, WI and various Water Parks in the area.
EVERETT EXPLORERS
ages 4-6
The Everett Explorers camp experience is perfect for your active 4 to 6 year old. Let your child delve into summer as they develop new friendships, discover and strengthen physical capabilities, explore the environment, and learn cooperation and teamwork. Weekly activities will include sports, games, arts and crafts, nature and science activities, creative movement and music, and story time. Our staff's goal is to provide a safe and comfortable environment in which your child can grow into a healthy and happy camper while having a lot of FUN! A low counselor-child ratio is maintained to personalize the activities, to ensure safety, and to encourage each child's sense of well-being. A parent manual describing the program in detail will be made available prior to the start of camp.
MCCORMICK DAY CAMP
COMPLETED GRADES k-6
McCormick Day Camp, the Lake Forest Recreation Department's oldest Day Camp, will feature activities such as; woodworking, crafts, archery, nature oriented activities, sports, games and the many group activities associated with the themed days McCormick Day Camp has always featured. McCormick Day Camp campers will embark on field trips every Friday to local Water Parks as well as destinations such as Lincoln Park Zoo and Green Meadows Farm, just to name a few. Campers will also spend their afternoons swimming at Forest Beach and/or the LFHS Pool.
summer discovery Ages 3-4
Let your child discover new things about themselves and their surroundings this summer at Summer Discovery. This camp has a low-key, noncompetitive, yet structured atmosphere geared toward the needs, interests, and skills of the young child. The campers will develop new friendships, discover and strengthen physical capabilities, explore the environment, and learn cooperation and teamwork. Weekly activities will include games, arts and crafts, nature and science activities, creative movement and music, and story time. A low counselor-child ratio is maintained to personalize the activities, to ensure safety, and to encourage each child's sense of well-being so each child can grow into a healthy and happy camper while having a lot of FUN! TWIGS ART CAMP
COMPLETED GRADES 1-6
Twigs campers are immersed in creativity! Campers will try their hand at ceramics, painting, drawing, and more at the state-of-the-art ceramics facility at Stirling Hall. They will also learn all about the performing arts of theatre and dance. Campers will have the opportunity to participate in games, weekly trips to the beach, and multiple field trips throughout the summer. The summer ends with a TWIGS Art Showcase & Performance for family and friends.
TEEN bike camp
Ages 11-15
Back by popular demand the Lake Forest Recreation Department is bringing back our teen summer biking adventure! Participants will travel on their bikes every day along the Des Plaines River Trail Path and the North Shore Bike Path. Each day will start out by mapping their adventures and exploring fun locations. All campers must have bikes, helmets, locks, and backpacks. Please bring a snack, sack lunch, water bottle, sunscreen and spending money to purchase items if desired. Some popular places they will travel to include: Lake Forest Beach, various community parks, Deerpath Golf course, and much more! Start your day with a good breakfast, oil your chain, and lets get going!
AWESOME AUGUST
Ages 4-6
August is Awesome at Lake Forest Parks and Recreation! Join us to extend your camp summer in a whole new way! This class will go through themes and topics designed for the interests of the children enrolled. Plan for water play and outdoor activities each day!
